Alex Hageman Memorial Fund

The Alex Hageman Memorial Fund was established at the end of 2015 to support and encourage young members of the Glenbrook Players Inc to explore and gain skills and experience in theatre craft through training opportunities and workshops.

Alex Hageman was a young and valued member of the Glenbrook Players family who passed away in November 2015. In recognition of Alex’s commitment to and great love of theatre, his family and friends made the initial contribution that established this fund. The fund is topped up annually with a portion of the proceeds from productions.

The inaugural recipient of the fund was Conor Lawless in 2016.

The fund provides support for young members of Glenbrook Players to attend workshops, courses, conferences, seminars and other activities that will assist in the development of an aspect of theatre craft of interest to them – costume or set design, stagecraft, direction, acting, production management, lighting, sound, promotion and marketing.

Eligibility and Applications

The fund is open to young members under the age of 35 years who have been active members (participated in one or more productions either onstage, or as back stage, lighting, sound crew or in a front of house/promotions role) for a period of six months or more. The fund offers support of up to $500 for approved activities.
