Two sets of twins, separated in infancy by a shipwreck, have grown up and made a life for themselves in different lands. When Antipholus, the younger twin, with Dromio, her servant twin, set out from Syracuse to find their siblings, they end up in Ephesus. Meanwhile, the older twin, Antipholus, and her servant twin Dromio, have a home, and a family in Ephesus, and are enjoying their own, somewhat peaceful life.
